So due to the fact I have built a few PC’s back in the day I have been asked to help build a PC for my nephew.

Going off the post I have read and the research I have done, £800-900 would get you in my option something decent that would last a few years.

However my kid nephew doesn’t have that much he has around £600.

I was looking at the £800 build that I believe Tetras(sp?) built replying to a different thread.

The obvious saving that stands out would be a different gfx card but would most likely take him over even going with say 6500 ?

He wants to play games like Roblox, fortnight and rocket league.

However he is young and changes his mind like the wind and as he gets older the games I can only assume he wants to play will of course become more demanding and I don’t want him to miss out playing games his friends are playing so ideally would need the machine to be expandable as as possible but appreciate the tight budget constraints on this build so that might not be possible.

What are built in GPU’s like for gaming? Is this option out of the question? They always used to be gimmick but like everything else technology moves foward and I haven’t build a PC for around d 10 years.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

It could but if you go second hand you can put together a reasonable machine for the likes of Fortnite which can then be upgraded over time.
Yep, totally, just depends if that's the OP's goal, and where he plans to source components from :) He obviously won't have MM access for example, and ebay isn't really cheap these days.
But I spose if he's whiling to try stuff for an hour at a sellers house off social media to make sure it doesn't overheat/crash/artifact etc etc as with GPU's, then that's fine :) Just be sods law otherwise vs saying buying on somewhere safe like the MM on here.

£600 can get you a fairly capable gaming PC now really. Of course more is better, but upgrades can still be had down the line.

Especially playing those sort of games, you don't need anything too special to run them well.

Built in GPUs have come on a long way, an AMD 5700G will play titles like Roblox and Rocket League fairly nicely. However they're still no comparison to even a low end GPU.

Something like this is close to the budget. A good 6 core CPU with room to upgrade. A fairly good GPU for the money. I have an RX6600 in my living room PC and it plays most titles at 1440p quite nicely, some older games it'll run at 4k too.

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £605.88 (includes delivery: £7.99)

This looks great as he just needs the PC I have spare a spare monitor, old g15 keyboard etc for him.

Why are you not considering 2nd hand at this price point?

OK, by the time I'd written that, its obvious. Delineation of responsibility when building for someone else.

But a 2nd hand full system perhaps?
