My young girls are just getting into gaming. They already have a PC which serves them well and I need second to stop the fighting.

Current system is:

480GB SanDisk SDSSDXPS-480G-G25 Extreme PRO SATA III 2.5" SSD 550MB/s/ 515MB/s
4GB MSI GTX 970
16GB (2x8GB) Corsair DDR4 Vengeance LPX Black, PC4-19200 (2400)
Intel Core i7 6700K
ASRock Z170M EXTREME 4

I want something similar custom built by OCUK (I haven’t the time to do myself)

Any recommendations....

I was looking at this...

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/ocuk...d-ryzen-quad-core-fs-122-og.html#t=b4c2d$e)g2

AMD Ryzen 5 2600X
Team Group Vulcan T-Force 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-24000C16 3000MHz
WD Blue 3D NAND 500GB 2.5" SATA 6Gbps Solid State Drive
Zotac GeForce GTX 1050Ti Mini 4

Can I do better for the money ? Will it compare well to the current system ? Good combination ?

They play games like Roblox - Sims - Planet Coaster - Fifa

Smaller form factor - so no bigger than micro ATX

Thanks for any help

@dx4100

That's a really nice system, though the GTX 1050Ti is noticeably slower than the GTX 970 in your current system:

https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-970-vs-Nvidia-GTX-1050-Ti/2577vs3649

Does your budget allow for a better card? If not what's the maximum budget so we can look for something for you?

(Edit: You could add the GTX 1070 for £170 more and then drop the AMD Ryzen 2600X down to the Ryzen 2600 to save £40, thus £130 to upgrade the GPU?)

I don't really want to go over 1K

Your suggestions sound good but I would probably keep the x version of the cpu.

How will that compare to the current one?

Thanks for your help

You're not going to see the RAM from one side. And the other side is all ugly with PSU and cables. Could get a cheaper and better (imo) case like Phanteks Evolv ITX Glass or NZXT H200.

Also, the RGB on that RAM cannot be controlled by Gigabyte software, only Asus, so you might as well get Corsair 3000 White LED which is great value this minute. Imo the latter cases look a lot nicer, allow for better cooling, actually have a consistent method of dust filtration unlike the Ophion (big gaps between the side glass panels and the case), and don't show ugly PSU cables on either side like the Ophion.

Noticed Windows isn't included so guessing you will install it yourself.

Take a look at this option with a 1TB M.2 instead of a 500GB and a better, more reliable power supply than the one that comes with the pre-built:

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £989.85

Build fee would take it up to around the same cost of that Rapier.

Size-wise, NZXT H200 has the same 37.5cm depth as the Ophion EVO ITX, and is only 3.5cm wider and 4cm taller which isn't much to worry about.

Would look nice with the addressable RGB fans* at the rear and top (with molex fan adaptor to power them), and the two stock fans can be moved to the front (with a different splitter to allow connection to the motherboard and control speed as they will be more noisy than the RGB fans which aren't noisy at all).

* And the motherboard's RGB Fusion software can control the RGB on these fans which your girls might have fun with designing their own patterns.

If you'd rather leave the M.2 slot free for the future, just swap the Intel 660P for a Crucial MX500 1TB or WD Blue 1TB SSD.

Team Group can be controlled via asus, msi, asrock & Gigabyte - their PR guy in taiwan is a mate so used the kit in the past on all the boards by ASRock

lifted from site

T-FORCE NIGHT HAWK RGB memory module supports ASUS Aura Sync / GIGABYTE RGB Fusion / MSI Mystic Light Sync / ASROCK-Polychrome Sync/TT RGB Plus/RAZER CHROMA software

but @dx4100 dan's list and mine are a lot better then pre-built offered - though case does have USB C which is a nice touch- NZXT are refreshing the H200/400/500/700 line up with USB C .

you can pay OCUK about £50-80 to built it for you along with warranty over

bit more power- should be built for the same you've listed

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £961.23 (includes shipping: £12.30)

h200 built would look a LOT more prettier :D

I found posts by owners saying that both Team Group and their motherboard manufacturer assured them it could be controlled but they weren't able to actually achieve it. Something about requiring future updates.

Insert part picking website above ^

However if you are sure then great.

Noticed that but the Aorus B450i doesn't have mid-board USB Type C for it, according to the specs.

Vega 64 more power but going to be toasty in that little case.

The Corsair White LED kit is cheaper and has better timings than the LPX kit.

@Danny75 as yes, back port only. think z390/x570 version has it. even better to grab H200 and yep... that kolink box would get quite hot ! haha

thanks for the links- will send it on to them. Could be with Fusion 2.0 or people not upgrading to it or have that might be the issue .

seems corsair have a few kits now with so many different timings which is a bit of a pain :(

Thanks for all the feedback

I went with the pre build above. The look doesn't matter as its going to be hidden from view anyway.

I just needed something as good as the previous build and done quickly. Thanks for. All your help.

the proposed PC looks good. what games are they wanting to play? perhaps you could even get away with an AMD APU like the 3400G

I only ever had to fight over whether me or son would get next upgrade. Which daughter is next is above my paygrade.
I would recommend that you pay a bit more and get the 3600 rather than the 2600x as the 3600 should be so much better. Also the RX570 is a very good price and should be much better than the 1050Ti.
