hi everyone,

i am looking to build a gaming PC so i can play CIV VI when it is released, also i want to run matlab simulator and ansys. i am on a tight budget can spend max of 300.

Any help on the components is much appreciated.

Also i am willing to buy second hand to achieve this build thankyou

i only have a lenovo laptop which just abouts supports Starters orders game on low resolution

hmmm....I think you may struggle to get a complete system for that kind of budget. You'd be looking at an integrated GPU like Kavari.

Anyway to double it?

You're more than welcome! I've not checked the clearance section as I'm at work and supposed to be working lol

If you have a look and see if there are any monitors, cases or HDDs where you could save some cash

You could alwways drop the mechanical drive. 240gig SSD is enough in the mean time. You could get an external storage USB3 drive later on?

The only other suitable board would be the below:

This would obviously take you a little more over budget so you may want to change the CPU out for a slightly cheaper one...

Will see if I can amend my spec

edit...

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £534.80
(includes shipping: £0.00)

You could go for a clearance CPU?

Kaveri A10-7850K
Kaveri A10-7870K

Check with OcUK what's missing as b-grade items are not always complete packages.

If you have a tv just now, I'd drop the monitor in the meantime and put the extra cash towards pc parts, then save up £90 to get the monitor in a month or two later on. You can hook up this pc to the tv to play, in the meantime.

Not a bad idea, but I would be concerned on the refresh rate and image quality. For £120, I think the monitor is a bargain.

@OP - Again, you could check for a b-grade monitor.

He can still get that monitor, just have the TV as a stopgap and put all the cash into the pc to start with. Should take long to save for that monitor. Get the monitor a month or tow down the line and have a higher spec pc.
