Hi, I am not new to gaming, but i will be new to building my own gaming PC, i am familiar with PC's and some specs, however there is so much out there that i have no idea what is good and what is not, im not going to assume that because something is expensive its better. Basically i use to play PC games when i wa syounger - 10 years ago, but i fell into the console world and although i still enjoy console games i want to get back into PC gaming.

The games i have played on PC are not many, they range from all the Football Managers, Championship Manager, Half Life & Gangsters - not overly impressive and not very resource heavy, however i got into the X3 games and these are very much resource heavy, my laptop barely runs X3TC without burning a hole in my leg, i even had to upgrade the ram to run it smoothly without crashes.

My question is, cna anyone recommend any good Gaming PC's on a budget of £500 but no more than £600? I don't need a monitor or a mouse and will prob need Windows 7 but i can get that myself.

This is the spec of this game

Recommended Configuration

Microsoft ® Windows ® XP (SP-2), Vista SP1™
Intel® Core™ 2 Duo or AMD® equivalent at 2.0 GHz
3 GB RAM
256 MB 3D DirectX 9 Compatible video card (not onboard) with Pixel Shader 3.0 support
Soundcard (Surround Sound support recommended)
10 GB free hard disk space
DVD-ROM Drive
Mouse and Keyboard or Joystick (optional support for force-feedback) or Gamepad

The new game coming out soon will need much more than that to run, and to be honest my Laptop is up to this spec already and it struggles, i would say the spec above should be treated as bare minimum config.

Thanks in advance

Some research has brought me to something like this

3rd Generation Intel® Core™ i5 3570K 3.40GHz Socket LGA1155 - OEM.

MSI GeForce GTX 660 TwinFrozr III OC 2GB GDDR5

Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800 C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit

PowerStation Gaming 600W Silent ATX2 Modular Power Supply

Seagate Barracuda 500GB 16MB Cache Hard Drive SATA 6GB/s 8.5ms 7200rpm - OEM

This is already near the £500 mark so i don't think this is right

Sounds about right, don't forget the CPU and gpu config you listed consumes 3/5 of your budget straightaway. Would you consider 2nd parts as it would make your budget stretch much further?

I have no issue using second hand parts, aslong as they in good nick i wouldn't mind at all. I know the price is right, sorry for the confusion, i menat i don't think it's right for my budget. Are the ones i listed good?

Cheers
