Evening!

Looking to upgrade my gaming PC as its starting to age with new games, going to be giving my PC to sibling so will be getting a whole new one and not just upgrading components; Basically I will be starting from scratch.

I will have £1500 (give and take) to spend, I will be overclocking it but not to the degree where I will need anything fancy like watercooling; good old fans are more than enough for me. Down the line I will also be looking for a new screen, but that will be done on a separate budget than this but if you could recommend one that would be great. I will also be doing some film editing on this spec, thats secondary though.

I will be getting this in around 1-3 months, if you think anything special is coming out between then and now and I should let me know.

Cheers in advance.

Hi

Just a couple of questions :)

Do you have a preference for AMD/Nvidia gpu ?
Are you going to want a crossfire/sli build ? Or do you want a single card setup ?
Also do you need an operating system ?

The prices on components will no doubt change over 1-3 month timescale, although you can always swap and change things by the time you come to order.

Ah yes of course forgot about that. I much prefer Nvidia simply because it is what I am use to/know. It will be a single card set up. Hmm I guess I will need a operating system, you can leave that out though as I might have a spare one.

I'll just jump in with a spec for now:

Quick question, I am planning to get the monitor below for this setup. I have read reviews that even a 780 will experience bad FPS with a 1440p, is this true and am I better off sticking with a 1080p?

Current monitor is LG W2363D 23" TRUE 120Hz 3D Widescreen LCD Monitor - Black which I got a while ago, its now scratched and has never been that good. Was around £150.
