I use the term 'gaming' very loosely, I want to buy/build a mega low budget gaming PC.

On a certain auction site the following system is available for around £275.

AMD A10 7870k
8GB
1TB
DVD Writer

It doesn't come with O/S, monitor, keyboard or mouse.

Can a more powerful system be bought/built for a similar budget.

Go used. It's very easily done these days. Would be more than possible to build a rig based around a GTX 780 or R290 for £300.

Recently I was given back an old Alienware I sold in 2010. Got the case/board for free, got a 1055T for free and then 8gb DDR2 800 for £20, replaced the PSU with a new one for £34 (Black Friday on OCUK here) and then to crown it all off I bought a 256gb SSD for £39 Black Friday and an Asus Mars 760 for £125.

Overall I spent around £220. I will admit that I used leftover fans and two 500gb laptop drives I had lying around but I tell you this thing hauls ass. It's easily enough for Fallout 4 on ultra @ 1440p (shadows and godrays on low)

I would say it would be easy enough to build a rig for £300 tbh. Just got to use your cunning :D
