Hi all,
Im looking at building my own pc and it will mainly be used for gaming and wondered what you would recommend as a good Intelcpu/motherboard/Ram combo for about £250.
I already have a EVGA GTX260 Card which I got cheap of a friend and want to run sli at a later date and I have an ATX/Micro ATX case.

Im starting from scratch and would really appreciate your advice so I can get the best system possible for not too much money, but can easily be upgraded in the near future.

Thanks

£250 is a bit tight, and anything that you can get will probably hold back your 260, can you stretch the budget to £300-350? There's almost no boards that can do SLI with a 775 chip on the store anymore, have you thought about changing to AMD this time round? They have very capable CPU's for a nice price too :P

You could get a decent AMD set up for that price.Example:

Yuo could substitute the CPU for a 550 for a bit more.

To be honest you really should go AMD with your budget, However since your heart is set on intel here is a spec that will do you. Learn to overclock if you cant already as it will play a major part in getting the most out of the system.

Note: As for sli i wouldnt bother because of your low budget. I would get the gigabyte DS3 as its better for overclocking the E5200 than the Asus board.

Thanks,I wanted a sli board so I could add another card at a later date but if you don't think that board is not very good can you recommend a better sli board,I will hold off from buying right now and get a bit more money together.I want a good base that I can build on.

Again thank you for taking the time to hlep me out, have you got a link for the sli board and cpu you recommend. So I can see what sort of money im looking at.
