Looking at my options.

At the moment i have the HP Pavillion Dv2000 (C2D 1.66, 120GB HDD, 2GB RAM, 14.1" WS).

Looking to see whats the best laptop i can get for say COD4, for upto £800-1000.

Hopefully something better than a 8600 can be had?

Thanks

8700m gt is an overclocked 8600m gt, 8800m gtx or gts is the only real step up in power and as nintenjo said, they start quite high.

You will probally need a BIGGER budget!
Ive got an alienware Area 51 M9750 and it runs COD4 ok, but the problem is keeping the machine cool!!!!!
Laptop was £1300

Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor T7600 2.33GHz 4MB Cache 667MHz FSB
NVidia® GeForce™ Go 7950 GTX -[would prefer the 8700 GT]
2GB Dual Channel DDR2 SO-DIMM at 667MHz

nOOb question but can i add an 8700 GT to my machine?

Well i dont have COD4 so cant gauge that..

but my 8700M GT 512mb can run crysis all on High except shadows @ 1280 x 1024 and i get a steady 30FPS.. But i ahve clocked it slightly higher than stock (735/920) But it only put the temp up by 2 degrees on the GPU.

The 8700 is a great clocker btw, and if your into that sort of thing you can get them going quite fast, infact ive seen some beat the 8800mGTX at stock.

8700m's start at about £1100 new.. 8800mGTX start at £1350.. so unlikely unless u get a refurb.

What brand sells the 8800M GTX for £1350? My department is buying me one soon and so far all i can find is Rock or Alienware! Which start at around £1799 for the 8800M GTX model...
