Hey guys I'm looking to build my own gaming rig that'll be able to hold its own for the next 2-3 years. The setup I'm currently looking at is as follows:
Intel Core i5 4690k 3.50GHz LGA1150
EVGA GeForce 960 SSC 2048MB GDDR5
ASRock Fatal1ty Z97X Killer Intel Z97 Socket 1150 DDR3
Samsung 250GB 850 Evo SSD
NZXT H440 Mid Tower - Red / Black
Kingston HyperX Savage Red 16gb
Corsair Builder Series 600W Modular

I haven't included any fans, thermal paste or wires as I'm not too sure on what's good so any advise would be great. It's all just the tower and I want it in the H440 case! Water cooling is fine but I want to keep my budget on the lower end of 800, but my Max is 950-1000

Thanks

Hi and thank you!

No need to worry about OS as I can actually get 8.1 free as part of my Uni course. The inclusion of a Sensei raw mouse would be grand but no stressing it

Just a main tower for games!

Looks awesome, thanks. Wouldn't really need the extra HDD as I have tons spare. Life subbing that out would you recommend anything else? I feel like the 970 is a bit overkill on a 1080p monitor, what's your opinion on that?

GTX970 will run all games at max at 1080P and that is what you want? why turn settings down when you can afford a good GFX card.

Better case that you wanted.

Bigger SSD and a larger water cooler.

Remember these cases have no space for an internal optical drive.

Awesome that's fantastic, most games and software is digital download now a days so no real stress for an optical drive.

What would you recommend in the 800-900 price range if I did have to pay for OS? Just want a good range before I commit to the purchasing

Also what case would you/you guys personally recommend? Be it for aesthetics or functionality
