Gaming rig £1000 budget.

I am looking to build a new gaming rig. It will mainly be used for MMO's so it doesn't have to be amazing spec-wise, just something that will do the job and be good for the next 4 years or so.

So far I have bought:

Cooler Master HAF X Gaming Tower Case - Black (RC-942)

I am looking to spend another £1000 or so but some leeway either side is fine.
I am not looking for any peripherals or an optical drive, SSD as I already have those.

Is it worth waiting for reductions in gfx cards as the 1070's are soon to be released? I would prefer an Nvidia card.

Any advice would be appreciated as my knowledge is limited.

This should do everything you need it to and there's room to grow if you need it down the line. Though I do think the 1070 is over priced at the moment it's still a very good card. And aside from 2nd hand 980ti it doesn't really have competition. Though I don't think you'll actually need this much of a machine. So can probably save some money by going i3 instead of i5 and maybe waiting for the amd rx480 or the nvidia 1060 which we'll probably see more about in the next few weeks.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £921.92
(includes shipping: £0.00)

Edit - Feel free to ignore the ssd and hdd.

Is Windows required?

Do you need extra storage (how much)?

Do you have a nice monitor already?

For MMO's you don't need a really powerful video card. 960/380 will be fine, although it makes sense to wait for the RX 480 if possible. You could spend the rest of the budget on a really nice monitor, for example.

My monitor is only a year old and it does the job :)
As for storage I won't be needing any extra I believe, although that may change in time.

Thank you for the build StarShock, I will look into it and it is nice to see I can save some money!

MMOs are often CPU bound rather than GPU. i7 will easily last you those 4 years. I picked 1070 over 970 as it was in your budget but also the much larger framebuffer should futureproof it further.
