Hello all. So I'm looking to upgrade my pc, I have peripherals and a tower what I really need is the main stuff that makes it tick! Rig will be used primarily for Gaming, with some streaming and film watching thrown in but mainly FPS/MMO gaming. Looking for something that gives a bit of eye candy but runs smooth enough.

The parts I need are:-
  • CPU
  • Motherboard
  • GFX Card
  • Memory
  • HDD
  • Monitor

I have no preference towards any brand. Originally I was looking to budget between £800 - £1000. However I can push that up to £1200 if it will merit a good enough upgrade for the money. A side note, is windows 8 worth getting? I have heard good things.

Oh any help on cooling/fans for the cpu would also be appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to read my post, any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

If he uses that cooler it has the red fluid to match the rest of that build i could have spec'd a cheaper one but it wouldnt look as tasty, ssd can be upgraded later on, its only got to hold the o/s and a fee choice apps to start with

Wow. Thank you all for the very quick replies. Totally blown by both the awesome set-ups you have produced. Really torn between.

I really appreciate the time you spent Nick.Lidgett and Ethermaster on the matching color-schemes. Both will look fantastic and may take a day of mulling over :D

However still undecided with the graphics card, how massive is the difference between the 7950 and 7970? Is it worth going 2x7950 over 1x7970?

Again any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Ah the tower! I was planning on using the:-

Antec 902 Nine Hundred Two (V3) Ultimate Gaming Case (with USB3.0 Support) - Black

^ Best my linking gets, sorry! Had the case for a while now, however if it does not meet the space requirements I will just fork out money for a new one, may mean waiting a tad longer but never mind. Do you believe the case will suffice?
