My sister and her husband want a low profile but mid-to high powered rig that can sit unobtrusively in their living room AV set-up. Is it possible to build them a mid range pc in a within a HTPC case?

Whats the smallest practical case I can build in?

Ive a feeling the Lian Li V350would be a better bet though. What do you reckon?

But they'd like a case with the proprtions of something like the Lian Li PC-C36B Muse HTPC

Heres a draft spec which is by no means finalised. But this is the kind of power i'm aiming at. Its just a question of finding as small a case as poss to house it.

E8400/8500
DFI P45 T2RS Micro ATX
ATI 4850
Corsair PSU 500w approx

I know its probably a bit larger but I have 2 x Silverstone SG01. (See Sig for pc specs)

If you are specifically looking for one that takes standard PSU's this is a nice case.

But they are quite a bit larger than shuttle cases etc.

More than possible

Shuttle SP35P2
Q6600
4GB OCZ 6400
8800GTS 640mb
1 x 80GB IDE
1 x 80GB SATA
1 x 320GB SATA

No problems at all
