Matx Gaming rig spec check

Pcspec2.jpg

Will also be using a q6700 chip and vista 64. Already have the CPU so can't change it atm.
Will be used for gaming (oblivion, cod4 etc)
My Budget is about £430 exl vat for everything I have in the above spec.

Any tips/reccomendations appreciated! :)

Thanks.

on your 15" hdtv a 4850 will be fine, not sure about once you get a 19/20" though, some advice may be needed there. what processor are you using?

With that processor I'd definately think about a 4870, only if you're moving to a 20"(ish) monitor though. Other than that I can't see much wrong.

The mouse, hdd and psu all seem fine to me. I don't know much about the motherboard I'm afraid, you'll have to wait for someone else for that!

I'd also suggest thinking about a better cooler, you might be able to get a q6700 to 3.2 or 3.6 with a decent cooler! again, I don't know too much so I'd wait for another opinion!

having said that, I can't see a lot of scope to save money on any of the other components! so if the motherboard and cooler are ok then you might be as good with what you've got!

...unless you can push the budget to include a 4870 - only £30 for the HIS in this week only!

yeah, ive just had a look at the cooler actually, seems good! the only thing i would suggest if the ram and mobo are ok would be the extra £30 for a 4870.

can't really tell tbh, with a velociraptor and 4870x2 it gets quite drowned out!

I've never noticed it as being loud at all, although i'm not to bothered about fan noise so i'm probably not the best person to ask.
