Bad time to be buying an AMD CPU/Mobo really, Intel Sandy Bridge is currently quite a bit better than AM3 in terms of gaming performance and the next generation AMD chips are only a couple of months away (hopefully.)

Pretty sweet CaptainUnlikely, but if i can just ask you to tweak a few if thats ok?

The monitor is too big, i should have said this tbh, ill be fine with a monitor thats 22" - 24", as long as it has a HDMI slot.

The SSD is a bit too big too, maybe half that size if possible. Also i was told to get a 3.5" if that makes any sense, it doesnt to me haha.

The blu ray drive is not needed, as i have a PS3.

The RAM i was told i didnt really need more than 4, or would you personally say 8?

Also i would really like a Xfire rig.

Other than that dude, thanks for taking the time to look one up for me.

OK thats it, im just gonna throw it out there now, ignore my "prefer AMD", include an Intel if its better, and hopefully the same price roughly.

If an intel really is worth it then by all means, oh and btw i have no interest in overclocking.

Thats pretty top Murray cheers, everything i need and want tbh.

One question when i first looked at that basket, it totalled up past £1300, then i refreshed the page and it dropped to £1274?

Just before i order that lot, is there anyone else that would approve that rig, especially for BF3 maxed out?

Or is there anyone else with an alternative rig?

Sorry Murray, just want to be thorough before i splash the cash hahaha.

Also you guys are ace, cheers for taking the time to do this.

I changed something thats why it dropped in price.

You could perhaps add an SSD or 8gb of RAM.

swtich the AC freezer 7 cpu cooler to hyper 212+

If you are spending £1300 spend extra £2. on the hyper 212+

so many people recommend arctic 7 in buidls liek this.. buts its so bad :( go forCM hyper212+

grab it, OC to min 4.4ghz-4.5ghz, smile at 335 increase in speed :P

The AC Freezer 7 is a great CPU Cooler I run it in my computer and it is brilliant.

Cool temps even @4Ghz.

Plus he has no interest in overclocking so it will keep it extra cool anyway. :)

My build was more of a preliminary, you didn't specify too much hence the larger monitor, SSD etc as I was just going for an all round build. I'd also recommend Sandy Bridge over AMD, the only reason I advised an AMD build is because you asked for it.

As for any changes to Murray's build, I'd go for the CM 212+ over the Freezer 7 cooler personally. I'd also take the better quality modular OCZ I originally posted over the Lepa. If it was me, I'd also drop the case to the Bitfenix and spend the difference on the P8Z68 Pro over the MSI, but that's because I hate how the HAF looks so that's personal preference really.

No mate that build was ace, and yes i should have specified what i wanted a bit more, sorry.

So thats 2 people for the CM 212+, hmm ok, and the better quality mod ocz? What is this.

Same with the P8Z68 Pro?

OCZ Modular PSU - £7 more and better quality, plus it's modular for better cable management and more efficient so it'll be quieter and use less power.
P8Z68-V Pro - a more expensive board, but more reliable and better for overclocking if you do that at all.

For your budget I'd also highly recommend a Crucial M4 SSD, the 64GB is nicely priced and they're very fast. A PC costing over £1000 really needs an SSD, it's almost always the most noticeable upgrade you can make.

Edit: beaten to it, heh. I'd go with the Kingston RAM I suggested basically because it's very reliable, it also leaves room for future RAM upgrades if necessary. The Shinobi Windowed case has two additional fans with it which does help cooling, especially as you'll have two 6950s churning heat out.

Ok so ive taken your build Murray and just changed the RAM to the Kingston as suggested by CaptainUnlikely.

So for this is an amazing build, how would you guys rate it in terms of gaming, and future gaming, i.e Battlefield 3.

Would it run it on Max Settings? (do you reckon)

I think you should be able to run it max but we won't be sure until it is released.

For gaming right now I would say pretty much every game max.
