Hello, can anyone recommend the best router they know for Gaming on a wired Cable connection? as in, no default caps, no hard to configure settings for forwarding ports etc, I currently have a Belkin and it just refuses to forward ports even when I enter the details correctly, as well as a few errors/problems etc, so I'd rather buy a new wired Cable router, preferably one of the best, Many Thanks, it can also have Wifi on it also, I dont mind, as long as the Wired side of things is great, thanks again :p

I've had good experiences with D-link wireless routers in the past...right now I'm on some lame BT voyager that BT gave me...range isn't that good but I get great ping times...and the port forwarding doesn't seem to work but I just put my PC on the demilitarized zone and use a software firewall (ashampoo)

Can any of you suggest some names of routers by any chance please? preferably ones that also work well with Xbox Live, as this one gives me a "moderate" result on the Xbox Live NAT test, when it should clear it fine for full connectivity, and belkins port forwarding must just hate me, cuz it has never worked, and i've even followed pictures for certain things :p

Not to mention it keeps cutting out parts of my net after a certain period of time, it's started to happen ever since I restored the router to factory settings :p

i've been very happy with my d link gamers lounge DGL4300. 108mbit wireless and 4 port gigabit ethernet router. It's one of the cheaper routers that has a form of QOS (external traffic not inbound) so i can prioritise packets from world of warcraft (before i retired :p ) and maintain a low ping for the game despite heavy internet usage from other computers connected to the router.

Don't have an X box so can't comment on that.

I'm using a Netgear DG834GT and had no problems with XBL.

I had to open a few ports specifically for it but that was easy to do and I'm no techno wizard :p
