Hi guys,

I am a first time poster on Overclockers and i want to undertake my first computer build. As im in to gaming and also do a lot of work is CAD and other construction related programs. Been stalking the forum a lot recently to come up with a spec which will suit me however i have not made any head way as of yet. The aim is about £1000 budget in total, I have put in what i would like to be included; however you guys might have a better idea. If there is a better spec with amd cards, please throw it up on the thread.

I would also like to have a case which will allow me to be able to upgrade it in the future and will allow me enough room to work with and decent cable management.

What i want in my computer spec:
AMD piledriver FX-8 8350 (or better)
NVIDIA GTX 770 (or better, I have gone off amd cards due to bad experiences)
I have also gotten a Hyper X kingston ssd kit (meant for my current computer but opted not to install it) £0.00.
The stuff i don't have a grasp on:
Case
PSU
Motherboard
Low profile Ram 16/24gb
Additional cooling where needed
OS
2nd HHD (7200RPM) 1TB+

Thanks,

Liam

Hi guys, thanks for the systems so far. I was wondering if it would be slightly easier to get the pre-built mother board, processor, ram, etc. as me and heat sink don't get along well.
In relation to cases my gaming buddies reconmended;

I have a certain fondness of NZXT Phantom range and the H440.

Any more guidance you guys can provide would be welcomed.

the only thing i have a problem with, is that my last 2 amd graphic cards have had the same problem with software, however there was no faults found by me or the amd team. Where as the GTX i currently have has worked well without any problems.

AMD graphics card kept uninstalling the graphics driver and reinstalling it. Then it kept malfunctioning with the motherboard, claiming it was unable to detect the card existed.

nooo. doesnt have a ssd automatically /bad at a budget of 1000 quid lol

i have a 240gb ssd, i got it for the current PC, but didn't want to waste it on an older system.

hmm what happened to sticking to the budget ;)
well, the original budget was based on the cash available at the time. But im owed some money from my job but its paid in installments. so i could stretch to £1400 odd now, but that will be staggered over 2-3weeks. Also this computers test will be running Acheage online at full.

Sorry about bumping this, but i just want to get the components correct :D. So here is what i have:
i7 4770k
Sniper G1 mobo
corsair gold 850w psu
Nvidia 780TI
Ram (undecided, waiting on a deal or i will procure last)
NZXT H440 due in may according to OCUK
Mount doom cooler
1tb segate hhd

in total: £1255, rounding up to the nearest 10. any additional info you can supply. as far as my research goes, this should all be compatible. I think i have about 3 years of future proofing with a bit of luck. Main problem i have is wondering is the GPU will need more cooling.

I am wanting to stay away from liquid cooling for the mean time, this is because i don't trust myself with it.
This is the reason im not normally allowed to manage my own money. The budget will probs end up being £1500.

Thanks peeps you been a great help, just need a little more from you :)

If you are going to wait for the NZXT case, then you might as well wait for the new Z97 boards and cpu's.
when are the Z97's out?. Hmmmm may 11th. longer to wait :( i think i will order the case for the mean time then. I shall reconsider when these new delights are released. Worse comes to worse i might be able to pick up some cheaper Mobo and intels from the Z87
