Hi there, Thanks for your advice I will order this system but my mate has offered me the following, Gigabyte S775 Intel P35 Express ATX - Motherboard is this any good? Or should I stick with the one you mentioned?
I've just bought basically same set up. Very good system, maybe get two WD HD's and get a raid 0 setup may be just a thought. Either way its an awesome setup
The motherboard is a Gigabyte S775 Intel P35 Express ATX Audio Lan. A friend has one going spare and just want to make sure its as good as the Abit IP35 you guys mentioned.... I can get the Gigabyte one for £50 from him, brand new as he no longer needs it.
He also has has some ram he will let me have cheap OCZ Technology 2x2GB 240DIMM PC2-6400 Gold. Will this be ok?
What model is the motherboard? Saying its a Gigabyte S775 (The socket) and P35 (the chipset) doesn't really help much as there are a few different models. It could be a DS3L, DS3P, DS3R, DS4, DQ6 or a few others..?

The DS3R is decent enough, the combo DDR2+DDR3 is perhaps a bit gimmicky as DDR3 doesn't offer anything hugely worthwhile over DDR2 at the moment and is pricey but it should be fine. Check that he isn't selling for any reason other than he has bought a different one i.e check that it works perfectly as some are a little temperamental apparantly but if you get a good one then no worries.
//edit that is good Ram. The other thing you could do is to check for Gibbos post in the graphics card sub-forum about what stock levels of the 8800GT should be like.
