Gaming system wanted.

I would spend some more money on the PSU, next model up from Corsair would probably be ok, im just thinking about future proofing.

I dont know anything about Gigabyte keyboards, I would stick to a manufacturer who has been making them for a number of years, aka Microsoft or Logitech

I dont think you need that sound card either, spend the money saved on that on a better keyboard. Onboard Audio is good enough for games and the odd film unless your into you sound big time.

I dont see any storage drives in that list, have you got that sorted?

Ups, EDIT

Ah too slow lol.

An aftermarket cooler will be quiter and run cooler.

Also you might need the extension to reach the input on your mobo as the PSU cable will prob be too short

Stock cooler is pretty loud. And you may as well get the 7970 over the 670. Same price but better performance.

Windows 7 over windows 8?

Why do I need another CPU cooler if I won't be over clocking, surly the stock one is ok?

Finally those PSU extension cables... whats wrong with the ones that come with the PSU?

I'm thinking about pressing the 'buy' button tonight but I want to be 100% sure everything is as good as possibly can be for the money, I've also had to go for a sound card as the motherboard doesn't have an optical port and my Astro A40's need an optical port.

You don't 'need' an aftermarket cooler if you're leaving it at stock.
The motherboard does have an optical out and I don't think you'll need a PSU extension.

I'd also look at the Xigmatek Midgard II at the £50 price point.

stock one is ok,

bottom of case psu the 12v cable will have to strech over the gfx card, a pet hate of mine.

Is your psu fan facing up? If so, flip the psu and your cable will reach when you route it behind the mobo tray :)

Oh, Andr3w, lose the 680. It's only 5% faster than a 670 which is roughly equal to a 7950.

Really only 5%? I've had a look online and the 680 seems loved. I did change the 670 for a 7970 but since the 680 was about £30 I went for that instead.

It's a great card for sure. It just isn't worth the price increase and you'd probably never notice the difference between the two.

Unless you specifically want Nvidia, a 7950 is the best price/performance option hands down.
It'll match or exceed a 670 with a small amount of very easy overclocking.

Ok thanks i'll mostly likely swap out for a 7950 then - would the stock cooler handle a small over clock? Is it worth going for a 7950 'boost' or the normal 7950 such as MSI HD 7950 Twin Frozr III OC V2 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card [R7950 Twin Frozr 3GD5/OC (V2)] (since it comes with loads of free games ;))

Other than the GFX card which I need to decide on - is everything else 100% sort to the best it can be - and will it all fit together :p

Stock cooler could probably handle a small overclock, though you may as well get a cooler anyway.
I don't really see the point of boost tbh. Even the most timid of overclockers can easily max out the sliders in Catalyst control centre without having to bother with voltages.

The TFIII is a great card assuming MSI have sorted out their recent problems. I picked the IceQ which exhausts heat out of the back of the case, though either card is a good choice.

Everything's ok on your list, but here are a few alterations. Bigger HDD, better SSD and an excellent cooler which will run quieter and let you go further with an overclock should you wish. It also looks a lot nicer than stock ;)

You said you don't like the boost but you quoted one :D!

I'm going for pretty much the same as what you quoted but with the TFIII 7950 card and a different HDD - oh and without the extra CPU cooler. If it runs hot/gets loud THEN i'll purchase one, but for now the stock will be fine for my needs as its tucked away where I won't hear it anyway.

AHHH i'm actually going to press buy :O!

I never said I don't like boost, I said I don't see the point when you can easily apply a simple OC yourself :D
I picked that card because it runs very cool and quiet and also chucks it's hot air out of the back of the case. The TFIII dumps all it's heat inside the case.

You might want to think about grabbing a couple of extra fans if you're sticking with that gpu :)

Ok it makes sense to go with the card you suggested!

Ordering time - if there is anything wrong when it all turns up i.e not compatible then it's your fault :D
