Im coming to the conclusion that i might just have to buy a tft/lcd as i cant seem to find any reasonably priced CRT's anywhere. Can someone explain why all these TFT's seem to vary in price SOO much. Some 19's seem to be more expensive than a 22". I want to a TFT for Games only. for about 250-300. Any CRT owners found a TFT that is close to the CRT?

Usual

Edit..

FPS games too .. so if there is any ghosting that would drive me made. (no point in having a good GCard if there is ghosting)

Dell 2007WFP is definitely up to some fast FPS gaming if you fancy widescreen and can find it within your budget. I can spot ghosting and texture blur on TFTs very easily, and this screen has virtually none.

Other screens that should be ghost free would be the NEC LCD20WGX2, plus the super quick TN screens like the VX922 and similar models.

As for price variations, that would mostly be down to panel type. TN panels are cheaper to make but have poor viewing angles, whereas you pay a premium for MVA/PVA/IPS panels. Also the less inputs a screen has the cheaper it is to make, which is partly why the 22" Belinea widescreen can be so cheap with just a single VGA input. Beyond that there's probably a rough connection between quality and price, and don't forget than some screens are just better value than others.

Only area I think where TFTs are weaker across the board than CRTs is black depth, especially if you like to game/watch movies in a dark room. To me that's the only remaining drawback.
