Hearing loads about these C2D cpu's my spec of my current pc is in siggy, my mates gone and ordered a E6600 and a DS3.

Is he gonna walk all over me.

What board do you reakon for a E6600

Your current system is still no slouch and is certainly not slow however his *may* be *slightly* faster but not enough to warrant an upgrade I wouldn't of thought :)

If you have plenty of money for a new board then you can't really better something with the nForce 680 chipset such as this . If you're after a good clocker at a lower price then the Gigabye DS3 should be very nice coupled with the right RAM and cooler :)

Do you really need to?

Was thinking just the same. That system would have easily lasted another 6 months if not longer! :(

Do you not need DDR2 memory aswell. Noticed you said you ordered DS3 and 6300 only?!?!

and some Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2 Dominator PC2-6400C3 TwinX (2x1GB).

I'll prob be upgrading in a couple of months time, i like the look if that EVGA nForce 680 bard, am i reading that right 10year warrenty?
