Dear experts,

I'm looking to upgrade my gaming PC (I imagine a new GPU will do the trick, perhaps a bit more RAM as well?). I'm looking to spend about £300 (or slightly more if it is worth it). Here are my current specs:

Intel Core i5-4670K 3.40GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor
Akasa AK-CC4013EP01 Nero 3 V2 Premier CPU Cooler
Gigabyte Z87-D3HP Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard
TeamGroup Vulcan RED 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-17100C11 2133MHz Dual Channel Kit
Sapphire Radeon R9 280X Dual-X OC 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Card
Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM HDD
SuperFlower Golden Green HX 650W "80 Plus Gold" Power Supply - Black
OcUK Value AT/ATX "Kettle Plug" 2 Meter Mains Cable
System Build Fan - Noiseblocker BlackSilent Pro Fan PLPS - 120mm PWM [EXNO-001]

Thanks in advance *

Get yourself a RX 590 or GTX 1660 Super.
The GTX seems to be worth the extra £30, I might go for that thanks.

Have you overclocked the CPU?
I have overclocked my GPU (with MSI afterburner) but I have not done it for the CPU. Should I (and how should I do it?)?

Which RAM model do you recommend?
Also is the installation of these straightforward (pretty much plug-and-play?)?
(edit: if you guys could link the components in the overclockers website that would be great!)

Thanks *

An SSD would make a world of difference too - at the very least a small one (128-256gb) to have windows installed on.

You need DDR3 ram which isn't great value at the moment as it is a bit rarer with the standard now being DDR4. You could probably make do with 8gb until you upgrade your processor (unless you don't plan on this any time soon), because any RAM you buy now won't be compatible with a newer processor.

I wasn't planning on upgrading my processor for a while, so maybe I just stick with a GPU upgrade for the time being?

Should I go for: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/giga...ddr5-pci-express-graphics-card-gx-1bl-gi.html
or : https://www.overclockers.co.uk/msi-...ddr6-pci-express-graphics-card-gx-35v-ms.html
?

(Anything I should know about the physical installation?)

Thanks *

For £20 more than the 590, you could have a MUCH better card in the 5700 Gaming X
