Hey guys, I'm looking into buying some upgrades as I'm getting more into PC gaming again so I thought, I'd like to have some upgrades for myself.

The upgrades are as follows:

HIS ATI Radeon HD 6970 IceQ Turbo 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £299.99

Cooler Master HAF X Gaming Tower Case - Black (RC-942) £149.99

Crucial RealSSD M4 128GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Hard Drive [CT128M4SSD2] £147.98 inc VAT

Corsair Enthusiast Series TX 850W V2 High Performance '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply (CMPSU-850TXV2UK) £104.99

Logitech G19 Gaming Keyboard (920-000978) **BLACK FRIDAY SPECIAL DEAL** £99.98

Logitech G9x Laser Mouse (910-001153) £46.99

G.Skill RipJawsX 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL )

Antec Tri-Cool 3-Speed 120mm Fan - Black x2 £7.96

Total: £749.99

------------

Some of the decisions made?

I was going to either buy a Macbook Pro or get these computer upgrades and now seeing as am slowly but surely getting back into PC gaming, I thought I may as well get the PC parts.

The SSD due to the fact that is where my Windows installation and adobe products are going to go because I work a lot on Fireworks, Photoshop, Flash and Dreamweaver for Uni.

New Peripherals such as Mouse/Keyboard because I'd like new ones and I'm tired of using this old junk.

PSU and GPU are essential because I've currently got a stock 750w from the company I bought this machine from and it's absolutely terrible, this is along side a ATI 5770 and it's out of date now, it has a hard time playing BF3 at anything above 60fps on high. I like to have 60fps in all games or I find it a little hard to play at times.

The cooler master HAF X replacing my current Antec 300, I'm going for this case as it has been recommended by many, many friends and it is truly an amazing case, although the £149.99 price point is fairly horrific in my opinion.

----

If you have any help/advice/tips for me? that would be great, if you know of any products that would better me, then that would be absolutely fantastic.

Thanks a lot,
Fragil1ty.

Hi
Overall it looks quite good
But I'd change the SSD to the Crucial M4, it's better
And you may want to consider a modular PSU
Do you need 850w? Only if you're going for future Xfire and even then 750 would do, if you're not then 650 would be plenty even

Would the Crucial SSD be more expensive because I'm kind of working on a budget.

I am not running crossfire but erm, I'd like to have enough power just safe keeping! I would love a modular PSU though, that'd be amazing.

As you can see here - http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18316485 - the M4 SSD is the one to have, I see you have edited your post to swap to this drive, good move:)

Here is a modular, Seasonic made, Silver efficiency rated PSU - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-001-XF&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat= - still plenty of power too.

You r spec is great then:)

Just one question, why the two extra fans? the case doesnt need any more airflow, its already top notch as it is.

Is that a good psu though? I don't want to go ahead and buy it for it to be not as good as the corsair! but i'll read the reviews and then see what's going down!
