A simple job for a lot of you but I've never dabbled with concrete etc before (which I'm guessing is the best option) and would like to be pointed in the right direction.

I want to cover/seal this gap and soil between the bricks and fence base to prevent things growing up like they are at present.

The other edges of the driveway have been concreted to fill gaps but they are cracking already and I'm guessing not enough of a base (if any) was put down so it has cracked with soil movement (no foot or car traffic has used it yet.)

Much obliged!

Get some proper weed killer that kills the roots. Dig it out a bit. Lay some terram or geotextile then fill with gravel. Any weeds that come through spray with weedkiller don't just cut off.

Cheers for the recommendation. I'll have to check it with the OH but it sounds like the better option to me.

Cement would just eventually crack and look awful. You could concrete it but you'd have to dig out 150mm and include some movement joints (flexcell) or again it will just crack and look awful.

I too believe gravel or slate would look better. However, soil will eventually form in it and stuff will grow. Nevertheless, anything growing will be much easier to remove.
