hi all I need some advice on how to keep rats and mice out of my garage

i have an up and over metal door and it has a gap underneath I suspect the rodents are coming in via this gap.

I have had a look online and seen some strips that fit under the door but with it being a metal door I am unsure which seal I would require and how to fit it exactly I would have thought u couldn't hammer a nail into metal? and as far as I know you need a particular type of drill bit and screw to screw into it.

any ideas which product will work? and which types of fixings do i need?

hi no the car is not used in this garage

so the weather stip - it attaches to the floor via glue?

A. is it secure and B. does it stop rodents? I thought rodents can chew through rubber easily

Remember mice can squeeze through the height of a pencil so you would gap to be literally nil.
yes that is what worries me
i seen that with my own eyes years ago

I just need to find a way to keep them out of the garage
this now looks like a rat as the droppings are huge i dont think they live there but they are coming in at night
just wanted to find a way to attempt to block the access

well they have gotten through every plastic box I had actually broken one of the boxes I had some peanuts in :(

Ok so there are actually gaps on the garage floor like cracks underneath the up and over - what product can I apply to patch these gaps?

also I think the height diff between the garage floor and the up and over is a bit too large for a floor strip that has been reccomended I will see if I can get a pic or two

Go to the local zoo ask for tiger urine. Spray it everywhere, in the garage, on your carpets at home, wear as aftershave, etc

;-)

Or get a cat, we notice difference after we got cats zero mouse problem. Even if they aren't catching them the mice smell/see the cats and avoid the garden.
yes so amazingly I have seen a cat near the front of the property and on one occasion it actually caught a mouse on my camera

they are great but would I be the owner of a cat? meh nah never they are not the kind of pet I admire so much

how do you entice a cat to come and wee nearby or fend off the mouse? lol @tiger urine

imagine going to the zoo and asking someone for a pot of tiger urine... :P

yes that looks diff

But once again it clearly has a cross against being pest resistant

Makes me wonder… perhaps there is a market for a new product made outta metal that stops the pests
