Chap I work with always just turns his garden hose off at the tap on the wall, he never turns off the sprayer end, meaning when I turn the tap on it sprays water everywhere!

What I do at home is turn the end of the hose off, then turn off the tap (then usually open and then immediately close the spray end to release the pressure).

What do you lot do? Random question I know, but it really does boil my **** every time I turn his hose on at the wall it blasts everywhere! We use the hose to clean down catering equipment, just in case you were wondering why I'm touching his hose (snigger).

Poll:
Open at the spray end, off at the wall tap
Closed at the spray end and at the wall tap

Ta :)

Stop turning on another mans hose and be happy with your own hose.

Edit: and how many of you n00bs have sprayers that aren't trigger based?

I always turn off the hose/sprayer and then also turn off at the tap. If you don't turn off at the tap the pressure is at the hose/sprayer end and it'll start to leak.

The instructions in my hosepipe reel says to leave the pipe pressurised when reeling it in, presumably to minimise kinking, so I do this and then turn the tap off.

Open at the spray end and off at the tap.

I have one of them expanding hoses so if you disconnect from the tap before the water leaves the hose then you get drenched.

Funnily enough, after having a hosepipe split / bulge due to heat expansion of the water in it last summer, I now usually only turn off the wall-end of the hosepipe so that any additional pressure can be released through the handheld end during the day. That's only if I'm using the hosepipe daily over the summer though, otherwise it gets wound up and put away.

Garden hoes? Impressed!

You don't need to turn hoes on. They are always ready.
Usually difficult turning them off!
