Hi all. Have a new garden office being installed. As part of that, a Cat6 cable will be run from the house which I will connect to the Virgin Media router.

I am assuming that in the Garden Office, where I need WiFi, I can simply hook the other end of the Cat6 up to a 2nd router? Is that right?

Is it a plug and play type arrangement or will the 2nd router need some setting up/configuring as it's not the main router and being used as an access point?

Many thanks, I have no clue about this stuff!

Can sometimes uses a router turning off DHCP/ putting it in access point mode, or buy a access point. If you have a old router kicking about worth checking it can do this before spending.

I'd put in an AP with some LAN ports on, like a wallplate one. No point running a cable all the way out to the office and then having to use Wi-Fi for your PC for the last little bit.
