Garden Question - Anyone know anything about op-up sprinkler systems ?

Hi

My in-laws are having their garden landscaped, and we want to put in a set of pop up sprinklers in order to save them having to keep watering the garden.

Just wondering if anyone had any advice in installation/brands/potential pitfalls etc ?

Of all the places in the world that would justify the cost and maintenance of an underground automated sprinkler system, I would think one of the wettest countries in Europe would be pretty close to the bottom of the list. It just seems really pointless to me. Plus on the rare occasion when its use might be warranted, there will more than likely be a hosepipe ban in effect.
