Sad to hear that Gareth Thomas has passed away today.

Loved (and still do) Blakes 7 as a child. RIP Roj Blake!

Currently going through Blakes 7 at the minute, very much enjoying watching something I missed out on in my youth.

Sorry to hear he's passed away, seemed to have a few years on him back in 78. Must have lived a decent long life.

Just found the series on YouTube. So I've started watching it again for old times sake. The effects are terrible of course, the acting a little wooden and the story much slower than a modern series. But still interesting to watch again as they had to rely on character progression and the story itself rather than effects.

Rest In Peace, Gareth Thomas.

Gareth Thomas, who has died of heart failure aged 71, was an accomplished classical stage actor who gained television fame in the title role of the BBC science-fiction series Blake’s 7 in 1978. Conceived by the writer Terry Nation as a more adult alternative to Doctor Who, Blake’s 7 was hugely popular with the public, ran for four series, amassed 10 million viewers, sold worldwide and retains a loyal fanbase despite the disdain with which some critics treated it at the time.

Loved him in Blake's 7. Despite the low budget for the show, the character interaction and writing was very good, imo. RIP. :(

That blaster wound from Avon in the final episode probably didn't help. :p

Great show, loved it as a kid and still do.
