Anybody got any advice on using any of the Garmin Forerunner GPS units for running? I'm interested in buying one however, not sure how good they are and if they are really worth the money. The newer 305 model seems pretty expensive unless you are really serious about your running. However, are the cheaper models 101/201 etc any good? Also interested to know if you can take the GPS output and import it into Google Earth.

Not familiar with the Forerunner series, but I've got a Garmin Legend including map of Europe. It seems to have every house in uk identified, but is a little less detailed in Italy; seems to have only every road, but not the individual houses. I've not checked any other country yet.

If familiarity with Legend is of no relevance, just say, and I'll shut up. :p

Have you looked at the Garmin website? They have a forum there which may help.
