ive just installed the catalyst control center for the first time, went for a game of CSS only to have after about 30seconds of play a constant popup box saying my graphics card was being throttled, next thing i know once thats gone im going down to <30fps

is 90oC really too much for an X850? ive never had a problem until i used this piece of junk, is there a way to turn off the throttling?
 
I think with my X850's standard cooler it got to about 70-80 degrees. This worried me enough to by the zalman fatality, so now my card is sitting at a healthier 45-55 degress load. :)

Plus i use some slightly older drivers optimised for 256MB cards that someone recommended on here.
 
get yourself an Arctic Cooler unit to put on there. MUCH better cooling.

Is the ambient temperature in the case high? Maybe thats not helping either.
