Gas BBQ propane regulator scam?

Already been said but a gas powered BBQ ain't a BBQ.

In countries where BBQs are actually used a lot - as opposed to the UK where they are a novelty fixture at some dreadful 21st birthday party, normally held in December, which no one wants to be at but someone has to go to, and you just know that there'll be herpes and/or a bottling incident - they are.

In Scope : Australia, New Zealand
Out of Scope : All of the UK, South Africa.

Bwaaaaaaahhh, a propane emergency!

Another thing that catch people out, is propane regulators were a different size to butane regulators, which means it's not possible to connect to a propane bottle using a butane regulator or vice versa.

EDIT: Some gas bbq come with a 27mm regulator, which only fits a Patio gas bottle (Green) or Propane bottle (Red).
Seen a number of people around here with new bbq's cutting off regulators, because the won't fit their Butane bottles (Blue) they have.:D

P:S: Why ain't this in Home & Garden.

I was just about to post something similar to your one.

Different bottles (usually different mixes and different flow rates) have different regulators.
It's largely a safety thing I think, as you don't want a regulator with a high flow rate on an appliance that only needs a low flow rate (dangerous), or the opposite (your BBQ takes a week to cook a burger, or your heater goes out but keeps spewing gas out) :p

We've got a gas heater in the garage (not used much, we were given it by a neighbour who didn't need it), and I had to replace the regulator + hose on it last year as the hose was perishing  hence I spent some time reading up on the regulators before buying one :)
