I was tempted to get one of these as have been umming and arring between Dell 2007WFP (but put off by banding posts), NEC GWX2 (great- but quite expensive) and the Gateway FD2185W

Looking on Hard forums though - people seem to have had a lot of problems with the Gateway ?

Can I ask if people here in the UK have had similar problems with reliability, as other than that it seems a nice monitor, decent panel, decent number of connections etc.

thanks, Mark.

ive had mine since the 1st load of them came into work been fine on all the conections and the base is ace, 1 strange habbit its has is keeping the gateway logo or the 1st input it logs on to when u swich on keeping a blue green box in the middle saying "dvi" lol just pressing the menu on and off again sorts that , apart from that very small niggle im very happy with mine

I think sometime forums carry an unbalanced view of a product, as most people report of their bad experiences and disappointment, but people that are happy with their purchase just don't bother to report back.

From what i have been reading its the best monitor for the 360 and ps3, but you have to do a lot of tweaking and thus be patient with it.

Its the best priced 24" on the market for what it offers and comes with all the connections except hdmi which isn’t a biggy as the DVI is HDCP enabled.

Its a shame OC don't sell it

I'm personally waiting for the new 24" models from sammy,LG and NEC to come out and then make a decision and hopefully this will also cause a decrease in prices because of increased competition :)

thanks guys - I must have got the model wrong or something though as I was talking about the 21 inch widescreen ?

to be honest - as the NEC is only 50 quid more and has a 3 year warranty - I think I'll go for that one.

Mark.
