Gateway MX6635b - Broken

Hi,

I have a Gateway MX6635b laptop that I use for storage of music and photos, but my laptop no longer charges. I have replaced the AC Adaptor but fear it is something more serious (maybe the motherboard connection with the AC Adapator)

Does anyone know how I can fix this. Any way to grab the info of the HDD or slave the HDD to another laptop?

Ideas and answers on a postcard to.....

it could just be the DC socket, does it feel overly loose, you can take the hd out and put it in a USB caddy, connect to another PC and copy files over.

Somthing like this http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-027-BT&groupid=701&catid=14&subcat=72 is needed but it depends what type of hard drive you have, it will be IDE or SATA and you need to get the correct one, then its a simple case of take the drive out of your laptop, usually a panel on the base, pop the HD in the caddy connect it to another pc and you can browse it and copy files from it :cool:
