Afternoon All,

I'm planning to drive up to Gatwick this evening then get the Gatwick Express into London. I've not done this before though so where do i actually drive to? The airport, a specific terminal or is there a separate car park for the station??

Thanks all,

OSB

The station is built into the airport so you won't be able to park anywhere specifically for it, tbh I would have thought it would be easier to just get the train straight from eastbourne? You would have to park your car in a long stay carpark and then get the shuttle bus to the terminal to catch the gat express.

I wouldn't bother with the gatwick express, you can't park near it and it will cost you to do so. Three bridges is just as much a main line station in the same area and its not to hard to park round it (more residential) trains every half our to victoria.

yeah go for three bridges instead. there is some residential parking near by but its all on roads i wouldnt want to leave a car on during the day. there is a carpark there and iirc its quite a bit cheaper than Gatwick short/long stay (for the airport).

three bridges to gatwick then get the express, or just do three bridges to victoria.

Come and join me on the fabulous train from Eastbourne to London, WOOOOOO!

Apparentally its better to go from Polegate instead, because they have better parking and its cheaper.

Why don't you just get the train from eastbourne? the gatwick express is a rip off. Fast trains will only call at Gatwick, Croydon, Clapham and London Vic.

I wouldn't park at gatwick, or three bridges for that matter ;)

There are direct trains, that take 90 minutes and call at...

Polegate
Lewes
Haywards Heath
Gatwick Airport
East Croydon
Clapham Junction

My nearest station is actually Pevensey and Westham so i think the quickest / cheastpest / easiest thing for me to do is to drive to Polgate then get the tain from there to Clapham then to Waterloo (where i need to be). Sound like a good plan??
