some of you might know about my gay fan situation. For those that don't in summarry, it was clogged with dust and was slowing to a halt then spinning slow but making a jet engine noise etc etc. Very annoying and also meant i couldn't game due to it overheating and shutting down my pc.

I had enough of it and i have 'fixed' it :)

I started by removing the fan to get the dust out of the bearings.....it didn't go as planned.

Luckily i had a backup plan because i kind of assumed fixing it would break it. To the side i had some super glue and an 80mm akasa fan:cool:

So i stuck it on, and it stayed on woohoo:p

Put it in my pc, and i now get better temps than before :D

Havin worked in a PA supply outfit for a while, and seeing the orders (new kit, but most notably, replacement for cooked drivers) that come in from the gay clubs round europe, I'd say the NEW fan is the gay one.

Those chaps don't mess about with limp kit I assure you.
 
When I think of Gays I think of High Energy dance music & screaming queens not slow fans.
Your mod looks Ghetto though & i like ghetto, Nowt better than finding your own solution to a problem that doesn't cost anything :cool:
 
Got to wonder how those fins on the fan actually push any air at all, they're damn near vertical :/

A lot of you are like little lost sheep when you hear this word expressed this way. I suppose not everyone will have heard it though.

It's just like saying it's crap. Example: If we all went karting and someone had the slowest go-kart they could say "my kart is gay". It's in no way meant to be offensive for people living that way. It's just an expression.

Honestly can't say.I'm idling around 46C, max using the ati tool is about 72C. When the temps were shutting me down it was above 90C. So it's definitely a good solution till i get a newer card. Bear in mind i only did it because the original fan was/had failed.
 
Gotta love ghetto cooling though. I have a similar fan on the back of my GTX. I've had it there since day one blowing on the back of the core to help me overclock a little more :). I sometimes position it to cool my RAM also.

Cos like I said, in my experience, pooves don't mess around with useless kit, they get the best and beat the cack out of it, we were shipping top of the line, bloody loud, speakers by the container load to gay clubs, far far FAR more than we ever shipped to non-gay venues.

Just cos they've got willie guidance issues doesn't make them all gingham wearing numpties you know ;)
