Am I the only one who is a little disturbed to see this kind of thing creep into computer games?

Now I know it has an 18 certificate but we all know that won't stop kids getting their hands on the game and this scene is easily accessed via character selection and a few dialog options.

I just don't think computer games are the right forum for this kind of obvious alternative life style promotion.

Who cares? How is going to mess a child up more than watching someone's head get chopped off really?

I'm not gay, but I don't care. It's not like the scene "happens" without you *CHOOSING* the correct options anyway. At least if it's anything like the regular sex scenes.

Bottom line, people can't help being gay. It's not promotion to show something as a great idea. It's an option, the same as in a lot of games you get to kill innocent people like in GTA. It's a game, chill.

"Obvious alternative lifestyle promotion" :confused: Since when did this become a promotion? It's hardly going to turn kids gay is it.

There was all this fuss in Mass Effect when someone realised you could have a lesbian sex scene if you played your cards right. Big deal. Games trying to represent real life shocker. Homosexuals exist and have done for several thousand years. Get over it.
 
It's not promoting gay sex at all and from the video it's not exactly hardcore. Plus there is not interaction, it is the same if it were in a film, which I think has been many times? Or insinuates at least.

Edit - Violence is a lot more mind altering than gay sex I believe.
 
I don't mind it, since you're only able to access it if you specifically go looking for it. No non-gay man would ask an Elf warrior to "join me in my tent". If it was two blokes kissing in say, the introductory cut-scene then it's another matter though.
 
I think you are the only one. There's nothing wrong with that kind of content and it gives the story detail greater depth, it hardly shows anything and the male-female exists also.

Have you actually played the game or are you just jumping on the media bandwagon?

Whilst I havn't played it if its anything like Mass Effect you'd have to spend quite a while cracking on to a man to get there. Its not like kids are going to watch it and suddenly turn gay.

Umm, it has a 18 Cert. If you buy it for your kids, you could well be seen as an irresponsible parent to be honest. If they get it by other means, so what. It's not going to turn them gay is it?

Oh and hiding "the gay" from kids till they are 18 eh? Yeah, that's gonna be a shock when they do actually find out..... or maybe not, Kids aren't stupid you know.

Dude. It's an EIGHTEEN. Are you whining about the massive blood and gore in other games? Or the fact in GTA you can have prostitues and kill them? Or in Splinter Cell well you strangle people?

It's a GAME. It's also for adults? Do you think the regular sex scenes are fine then to show to kids? What about where I slit a guys throat while he was helpless in a cage (obviously all in Dragon Age). What about the lesbian sex scenes, are they bad too?

What about South Park (which many kids watch) where they kill kenny, had a cripple fight, had cartman try to kill all non ginger haired kids, or had a boys parents killed then fed them to him in a chilli?

What about Saw, where people get maimed and tortured??

OMG! I just thought of something........ I actually REALLY enjoyed that Airport scene in MW2. With all the killing, explosions and very realistic scenery.

Maybe I'm gonna turn into a terrorist? :rolleyes:

So with games out now where you can chop peoples heads off, steal cars, kill prositutes, murder random people, swearing, blood and in this game have sex with females and even the abilty to have a threesome. You are worried about the one gay scene.

And the simple answer is, it shouldn't.
It has an 18 Cert for a reason :rolleyes:

As a mature gamer, I encourage bioware to break these taboos, and perhaps then gaming can finally grow up.
