GaymerCon: Everybody Games

I thought the point is to treat everyone equally, so they have their own GaymerCons, yet if some had a StraightGamerCon they'd be lynched.

(Yes straight people are welcome, but just seems kinda silly to segregate it like that.)
 
I'm really not sure what difficulties the Gay and Lesbian community experience in the gaming/geek world or even why your sexual preference would make any difference. I can understand other things where discrimination becomes a problem but I have never experienced discrimination like that in the gaming/geek world.

A world which is pretty accepting to even the most bizzare of persons (I mean look at some of the geek-like deviants online!)
 
I lived with 2 gay guys who were seriously dedicated to gaming (more so into retro games, but also rpgs etc) and were subject to a lot of abuse over chat in the communities they were part of. I guess it's just a place they can feel confident, and probably get laid too :P
 
Gays say thay want equal rights and all that, then they say they want their own game con, not wanting to go to the real thing that is open to all and expect people to pay for it.

Thats discrimination, we should all be able to goto their gay gamecon

This isn't the first idea like this. IGN announced they'll be doing a LBGT gaming convention sometime within the next year.

I feel that things like this are counter-productive to having the LBGT community widely accepted. The funny thing is that I'm not even a supporter and couldn't care less if they are accepted or not XD

How on earth does it even come around playing games online what your sexual preference is unless you are actively broadcasting it?

Gays like to broadcast they are gay for some reason, I have a few gay mates on FB and they are always announcing **** and sharing pics of random guys on their timeline, getting quite annoying now, removed their activity from my news feed.

Because when a particular aspect of modern culture doesn't do anything to discriminate against them they get all confused and instead decide to segregate themselves.

You have obviously never seen or been to a Blizzcon. They are far from it. I not a huge fanboi of Blizzard, in fact I'm losing interest in their games rapidly. But Blizzcon is an awesome event very well put together.

On topic though, I read that kickstarter page (yes I'm that bored at work lol) I mean they really sound like a bunch of idiots who are hosting this. But whatever people can do whatever the hell they want.

Idea for future gaming event everyone must be dressed up in some form of costume because people who like to cosplay feel hard done by.....
