Gays for Windows Live

Personally i think Microsoft and whole PC gaming genre needs to dissociate from GFWL.

GFWL is a console concept so why should the mighty PC be made to run alongside the 4/5 year old outdated XBox 360 technology?

Passwords ..... confirmation codes ..... username...... verify this ....... nah- PC gamers deserve better.
 
I agree with the Op.

GFWL is tosh and MS should just **** off and leave it to those who know what they are doing and stick to their console.

Despite designing the O.S we game on, they know **** all about gaming on the same platform it would seem.
 
Just had a great experience with GFWL there, ran DOW 2 for the first time since i bought it of steam the other day, tried to log into my existing GFWL profile and it refused to recognise I was connected to the internet (though it knew that I had connectivity and LIVE servers were up :p). The problem, I am connected via LAN port #2 on the PC instead of #1 so it just gave up after looking at the first one :rolleyes: such a silly error for any program to have.
 
I remember having my saved games deleted on Gears of War which I think was a game fault rather than MS GFWL though there seems to be a regular cause of confliction with it and people then get problems, so I really do sympathise with OP. Oh yeah, I too have yet to have see the point of us having this GFWL anyway. Achievements.. can't say I'm that bothered...
 
Single playeyer, yeah, think i played almost all of GOW2 a year or so ago. Don't bother much with single player these days,, it is all the same.

But yes, bad luck. Microsoft are indeed rubbish. don't worry Windows7 will sort it.

Perhaps, I tend to view it as a program auto-created file as you don't have to browse for the savegame, and tend to not have a lot of them per game.

Thats a GOW problem. There was a 100K plus post on the Epic forums about it as it happens on both 360 & PC and Epic say they cannot fix it as they have been unable to recreate why it happens so its a bug in the game code nothing to do with GFWL.
 
i numptied up my Fo3 save. i am so upset. kind of my fault, was a little bit to excited about my i5 to backup properly. It felt like i have lost part of myself.
 
I don't like GFWL, seems quite often I can't connect so I can't play DoW 2 multiplayer :/

Lot's of posts on official forums about the connection problems that it has.

I have to say if there weren't people out there who provide ways to remove GFWL from games it would have a large impact on what games I purchase.

Horrid software that should have come nowhere near a PC. The fact that I'm not allowed to save a GTA4 game without making an account has meant I have the game sitting in steam unplayed..
