Hi

Can anyone suggest a gazebo for a patio area.

I'm wondering how they are secured as most I have seen have guide ropes but mine is going on a patio, are there different types for a hard floor?

Budget £50 or there abouts.

Looking at large gazebos of around 2.5m x 2.5m.

Thanks

If you're on hard standing like a patio you'd normally sandbag it/weight it down. So a sandbag/heavy weight on each corner and if needed one on each guide rope.

I'd stay away from the "pop-up" ones as these can be weaker than a pole framed one - although depends how often it's being put up and taken down as a pop-up one is quicker and easy to put up.

As for which one, just go for the best you can for your money as they're much of a muchness at £50...and if possible try and get one that has some side panels as it makes it more usable.

I'm going to blow your budget by suggesting this, but by far the best gazebo's I've found are the Coleman Event Shelters. Here is one on amazon but you can probably get a better deal:

They do a couple of different sizes however they're all pretty big so you'd have to make sure that your patio is big enough first.

The square ones are pretty much all rubbish and get blown around, ripped and bent within a day or two. The Coleman is a much more sensible shape and can deal with the wind far better. They sell sides for them too if you need.

We bought one of the pole ones years a go and it lasted a few nights then went in the bin, we then in an emergency (christening bbq) bought one of these and it's been fantastic, comes with us camping and used in the garden, had it about six years now and it's still going strong.

I've got road pins and a club hammer to fix mine down on the grass.

I'd buy an event shelter if I had to replace it, only problem is if you want to get near something as in the square gazebo you can put up against a door where as the event shelter you can't.

Also have one of those ones that macca linked to, had recent bbq where the weather turned to a full on tropical storm, it stood up to the rain brilliantly and for that sort of money you cant go wrong
