Just got this card delivered from OCUK and trying to run heaven v3.0 bench but It seems to be listing my GPU as the HD3000 internal chip and I think this is affecting the bench. I've googled but can't find an answer. Can anyone help? :confused:
 
I had this occaisonally on my 580. It's running on the gpu, but puts the igpu in the benchmark readout.

I can't remember what fixed it.. Was an intermitent issue i think

Newest catalyst installed from amd site and TV plugged into GPU HDMI out

Does this look right for a GB WF x 3 7870 at stock (1100mhz 1200mhz)

What scores are you getting in heaven? It shouldn't be affecting the benchmark scores.

Edit: yeah looks about right :)

1800-1900 I would say.

Your CPU definitely isn't bottlenecking it then.

The speedstep won't affect it as it will step up to 4.4 when the cores are utilised.

You're using the setttings in the Heaven 3.0 thread, yes?

Yes. I must say the benchmark doesn't seem to run as smooth as I would expect it to. seems to stutter a bit. I thought the benches seemed a bit low compared to OC 7850's.

Think something isn't right with the card?

I was getting weird white shapes in some parts of the bench too which seems to have stopped now.

Hey sorry haven't responded sooner. It was my Bday yesterday and was out fishing today so this is the first chance i've had.


I was using 12.6, then I tried the drivers off the disc that came with the card which is 12.3 but it makes no difference to the bench results.

I had a 4890 installed before with no issues OC to 960 - 1040 and was getting in the top 14 online bench results in 3DMARK vantage.

I uninstalled the old drivers, did a restart, put the new card in and installed the new ones.
 
hmmmm I'm getting a rubbish score in 3dmark vantage too....almost half comparative system scores at stock.

I'll try another driver wipe and install but if this carries on the card is going back.


Edit - actually i've just checked more scores out in reviews and this seems about right.

Can you link me to any screenshots of heaven benchmarks that high with a 7870? I can't find any and they seem lower in reviews, however they neglect to mention the settings they used.
 
Ok i've checked and since there is only one 7870 result in there and it is comparable to mine then it looks like all is good.

Still can't find these 1800-1900 7870 scores. That looks closer to an OC 7950 :eek:
