Gboard for Android slaps Google’s logo on the spacebar for some users

Honestly I find it hugely distracting whilst using the keyboard and scanning for characters. I keep finding my eye being drawn to the wording.

Also from a UI usability point of view it seems like it should do something whereas it's literally just a name in the space bar. You can't search/etc or do anything else beyond what the space bar normally does anyway.

It just seems like such unnecessary branding placement in the worst possible location :mad:
 
If it bothers you, and you don't see any benefits from the last version (or whichever has a blank space bar). Then head over to apkmirror and search for gboard, you can find most of any previous versions ;)
 
So, I do use gboard from time to time along with Samsungs own keyboard on my Note9.
And yes when I enabled gboard the spacebar did have the Google logo across it. But once I'd customised gboard to my liking the logo disappeared :confused::) I dont know why, but its gone.
You might be able to do the same.

It has been removed already, Didn't bother me in the slightest.
 
Good, bit distracting and no reason for it to have suddenly been added either. Not the least bit surprised they've removed it again.
