GC games on wii

Do i need to use a GC controller to play the games on the wii or can i use the wii mote and the daoggly bit? All this mgs4 talk has made me want to play twin snakes. Im to skint to buy a ps3

Rogue Squadron wouldn't start for me without the GC memory card even though I had a Wii memory card inserted, once the GC memory card used, everything was tickity boo !

Wavebirds are awesome and handily double as Bomberman/Mario Kart controllers if you're short.
