Atm I am using a friends 9600xt. Sucks I know :)

Just wondering is it worth a motherboard upgrade to PCI-E?

Also looking to spend upto £250 on a decent card. But if PCI-E is that much better :)

Cheers Guys

PCI-E isn't much better, BUT, and it's a big but, PCI-E cards are miles better value. You can get a £130 PCI-E card that will outperform a £230 AGP card. You may well be able to get fast PCI-E card + mobo + cpu for the price of a good AGP card. Well, you definitely can because it's what I did. There's also much more choice on PCI-E.

Also you can sell your old cpu, mobo, ram, video card etc, as needed.

Assuming your 3200+ is socket 939 you could get a 7900GS and a decent 939 mobo form under £200

The 250GB is 754, which is a shame.

It's a hard decision, as the setup you have now is good, the board is fantastic as I had one with a 3400 which did 2.8Ghz.

Problem as already mentioned is the price of AGP cards, so maybe best to go PCI-E now?

you need the following...

Asrock K8NF4G-SATA2 S754, VGA, SATA2, Lan, 7.1Snd, mATX - Competitor only as OCUK dont sell them :( £32

another gig of ram as what ever card you buy wont allow you to use full graphical detail on new games unless you have 2 gig of ram as it will simply stutter you to death when fetching textures from the page file due to lack of ram. you can pick up 1 gig sticks from a popular auction site for £38, you may need to flog your current ram as the board i have suggested to you only has space for 2 ram chips and if your using 2X512mb at present then you cant expand.

say 2X ram sticks @ £38 a pop = £76 + del = £80

total so far = £112 leaving you with £138 for a graphics card,

X1800XT @ £135 from OCUK and your set. :)

Why not change your mobo to an NF4 and get PCI-E, would be better than just getting another AGP card, especially when upgrading down the the line.

Patsymuncher had a good write up about an Epox nForce4 754 board on here some time ago, maybe check that out.
