GCSEs and A Levels

Nope you need at least 5 grade "C's" to do A levels though. Also some teachers say it might help if you've studied the course before. Only problem is there are a lot more A level courses out there than GCSE courses. So must new courses you'll start will be at A level.

As people have mentioned, it does depend on the subject. Of course you can negotiate your way around many of the entry requirements, but if you are trying to apply for A-Level Further Mathematics at a very good institution, you may find that your F in Maths Foundation GCSE is not helping you in that endeavour.

Depends on the school.

We were a bog-standard comprehensive, and to get into Sixth Form you needed 5 A*-C at GCSE, and you needed a B or above in your chosen subjects (and you had to do a minimum of 4 subjects for AS).

I was allowed to do business A level without a GCSE in it so I think it depends on the subject/school.

Really depends.
Unless you're going to scumbag college though you'll probably still need some GCSE's, I found maths grade C is required for anything mildly technical when I applied, god that was ages ago.
