Well I left school over two years ago now UCAS is asking my GCSE results, I know what I got, and I've guessed what date I recieved them but how am I supposed to know what exam boards were used?

The exam boards all want like £35 per qualification, and baring in mind I don't know what qualifications were in each exam board, it's a lot of money. Any way to find out?

I'm not sure what happened to the certificates, like most things in my house they'll be hidden away somewhere or accidentally chucked out. I didn't realise you'd actually need a stupid piece of paper, who's going to trust that as proof of a qualification? I'd just phone up to check (don't get why you can't do that?)
Failing that I may have gotten drunk and burned them, results day is quite hazy.

Just phoned my school they said they'll try and find out for me but no guarantees.

i can remember my GCSE results and i took them in 2001..
even if you have an appalling memory, you should still have your certificates.
although if you think certificates are "a stupid piece of paper", good luck with anything in future that requires records to be kept.

your school might still have your records. i'd start there

Well to be honest, I could probably forge a convincing exam certificate will little more than a good printer and photoshop so they didn't seem important, just a bit of a paper telling you what you had.

I didn't even look at exam boards back then, I was 16, I got my results I just wanted to go and party, who honestly spends hours memorising what exam boards etc. were used at gcse?

That would be fraud.

My point is, it's not exactly difficult to force a piece of paper, it's about as secure as someone writing down "John has 11 gcses" on an old reciept.
I would have thought it'd have been more secure, so didn't bother saving them. It's not like I have a filing cabinet.

Anyway, managed to find a rare breed, a useful receptonist, within 2 minutes she said "Yeah I'll get the exam office to print them off" drove up there which is like a 2 minutes drive and collected them. Love useful receptionists.
