hi guys, im planning to put the gd65 into my antec 300 tommorow, but i have two questions:

1) how do i use this turbo usb? can i use the case usb's with it?

2) there is a 8pin cpu power plug, but it has a bit of plastic convering two of them (making it 6-pin) - is this meant to be there or shall i remove it?
(i am using the corsair cx600)

thanks again

Nice choice of motherboard :)

And a B3 revision as well :D

Try and keep your RAM voltage to around 1.5V.

1) Do you mean Super Charger?

Only the red USB header on the motherboard supports this.

Connect the USB cable from your case to this header and then the front USB ports on your motherboard will be "Super Charged". You need to install the Super Charger utility to use this function.

This feature is for providing charging power, it doesn't increase the speed of the ports.

For faster USB speeds use the USB 3.0 ports connected to a USB 3.0 external device.

2) Remove the plastic and fit the 8 pin connector.

thanks for this, it is really confusing, the manual says:

"The JUSB1 (red mark) supports MSI newly Super-Charger technology. With Super-Charger technology, the JUSB1 can only provide charging function in S0 (power-on),S3 (sleep mode) & S5 (shut-down) states. However, the synchronizing data link will be disabled. In this case, the system can not be awaked through the JUSB1.For Super-Charger in S3 (sleep mode)/ S5 (shut-down), we suggest you to connect only one device for stable charging."

Does this mean that the red supercharger is ONLY for charging and it DOES NOT transfer data when powered on?

I use USB ports connected to that USB header without any problems but I don't have the Super Charger utility installed as I don't need it.

I assume it means that you can't wake up your PC with something connected to those ports.

I guess you'll just have to try it and see.

so you have the supercharger being used as a standard usb connector?

I have jusb1 connected to the two front usb ports on my computer. After reading your post, I did a little experiment.

Installed super charger software.
Switched supercharging off.
Plugged in my mp3 player to a front port.
The icon for the mp3 player appeared in "my computer".
The mp3 player was charging as normal.
I then enabled super charger fast charging feature.
The icon in "my Computer" for the mp3 player disappeared.
Checked my mp3 player and the charging icon is indicating what I suspect is a rapid charge.

So, to clarify, it will work as data transfer or fast charger. Not both at the same time. Although normal charging occurs in data transfer mode. Seems handy feature for a fast charge.

In addition to above:

I don't know what effect fast charging will have on the long term battery life. I expect that depends on the type of rechargeable battery within the device.
