We have some new details about GDDR7, also the first verification tools have been developed

It looks like GDDR7 will operate at 36Gbps and support two signalling modes: PAM3 signalling will be used when maximum bandwidth is required and the GPU works hard and when the GPU is doing light work or idling, it switches to NRZ signalling which has less performance than PAM3 but it's more energy efficient so the GDDR7 vram will use less power when high bandwidth is not needed

36Gbps GDDR7 operating on a 384bit bus would offer around 1.8TB/s bandwidth or 2.3TB/s on a 512 bus. Despite this extra performance over GDDR6x, GDDR7 is expected to use 25% less power

and a months mortgage payment to by the first mid-range card fitted with it?

Next Gen memories are now starting to move to the expensive sub 10nm process nodes, so yeah memory module prices are going up
