Gear change worse when moving?

I have a brand new car (Suzuki Swift). When parked with the engine running the gearstick moves easily, but when driving it's quite hard to change gear.

I assume it's a straightforward answer i.e. the gears are spinning when the car is moving, therefore it takes time for them to mesh together?

Thanks :)

It never gets easier and they're all pretty much the same. First to second is the worst though. When the gearstick passes through the middle of the gate it stops, and then you have to jerk it again to change gear. Changing gear is a two-step action instead of one swift movement.

I've already had the centre console up and lubed all the linkages and moving points.

Thanks. Am I able to lubricate where the cables enter the gearbox underneath, or will that be all sealed away? I've sent a message to the dealership asking to book it in.
