gears odf war pc

Only played it for around 15 minutes on my old system and found it awful. I'll try it again on my new one just to see if it's any better with a more up to date rig and post my findings later.

I got Gears of War for Christmas, and i must say, the Graphics look ace on DX10 with AA. I also like the gameplay, all in all, i would say get the game
 
^^ I agree. Apart from the odd stuttering issue (which can be partially fixed) it's a very well designed and fun game; better than the majority of console ports.
 
Nice game if you can get it to work, lots of people with problems on the Forums not getting acknowledged by Epic/Microsoft. I've warned you though, gl :p
 
i got it for xmas, it's class, spent ages trying to get my account to work, don't know what i was doing wrong but s'all good now :D

thanks for that m8,crashing stopped:)only prob im having now is when i adjust graphics settings they revert back to stock settings when i restart the game:mad:any ideas?.......i just love spending the whole of a saturday night trying to get a game to work properly:rolleyes:
 
anyone had a prob with display settings with this game?i set all to maximum inc enabling the dx10 and it says you have to restart game for changes to take effect,i restart and settings have reverted back to its origianal settings:mad:i can set everything to max but leave the dx10 setting off and you dont need to restart and it runs fine and looks nice but when i close the game and restart same crap...origianal settings:mad:also i have 1month live gold but it wont except the code,any ideas guys?...edit..it would appear that it doesnt even save my progress in single player :( i dont think ive ever had such a buggy game,first the crashes which was sorted,then the video settings not saving now the game not saving,not to mention my 1 month gold subscription code not been accepted :( unbelievable,at the mo it looks like a waste of £25.

Not sure. The game seems to force you to make a Live account & uses a very similar system to the Xbox. I've found no way to go online without a Gold account :(

yeah you can get online with the silver account,not many servers though but you can still get a game.id love to play single player but untill i get it to save my graphics settings and save my game progress i aint touching it:(
