Just installed this as it has a free trial, I HATED the previous gears games in multiplayer but must say this one is AMAZING I think, MUCH more tactical than the previous games in the series and guns are all balanced excellent!

Infact I would go as far as saying its one of my fave games at the moment and will defo be buying it when the trial runs out :) its also optimized amazing, I can play at 4k maxed and get a constant 90fps+ up to around 120fps! in 4 blooming k!

Only thing I didn't like about the game was waiting around 5/6hrs for it to download lol its over 120gb! I know its been out for quite a while but I really do love the gameplay in this, also like how its cross play with xbone players.

Anyone else enjoy gears 4? or do you all hate it? lol
 
Yeah I really enjoyed playing through the campaign. I got it on 2 pc's in the living room and me and my friend made a night of it and completed it in one go.

it's amazing they let you play through the whole game on the game pass free trial. Keep an eye out for sales on the game pass last one I bought was only £1 for the month from the microsft store.

As for download size yeah it's a pain. I think the store messed my download up the first few times so I ended up downloading about 500gb.
 
Holy moly! 500gb! lol haven't really tried much of the campaing, been spending all my time on the online multiplayer mostly playing tdm, I LOVE it :) really is one of the more tactical shooters about and I like how you have time to think etc.

Also LOVE the fact you can explode people with a nice timed shotgun blast lol more games should have similar to this in them, its soooo satisfying when you see your enemy explode hahaha
 
Shame PC version never got the HDR eye candy & additional FX the Xbox1X received. Either Nvidia cba or developer Epic did not want to allocate the resource to it. If you sub to monthly Game Pass this is free so is the Gears Of War1 Ultimate remaster I think ;)

Not sure as haven't played this for a while, was a fair few playing when I last tried it though but that was a month or so ago
 
Not even close to a great gears was 4 imo, its campaign was poor. Its multilayer was just usual nothing great

It's one great aspect was horde mode with friends that's was it for me.

My favourite gears is still 3, 1 and then 2.

Judgement and 4 both very weak entry's imo
 
I've said this many many times before......nothing for me will ever take away the thrill of 19 x 1 minute rounds of Raven Down. smashing an entire squad with the '2piece' shotgun move or grenade tagging 1 player in the midst of his team mates then jumping back out just before he blows up wiping them all out. never had and never will again have so much fun.
 
Game of 2 halves for me (I completed it last week as it happens)

I really am not a fan of the robots but once that part was out of the way it was back to proper gears and i enjoyed it. I read rumours the developers were working on a third person cover shooter with robots that got canned before gears 4. i almost wonder if they used some assets from that in gears?

VS MP is more of the same "classic" gears with its wall bouncing and OP shotgun... I am not gonna try to convince you it is good or bad, if you played gears you will already have an opinion.

Horde again for me a mixed bag, over all i like the traps and the mechanics..... but it gets a bit samey - i would rather more more variety in the waves and again, i really do not like the robots. personally i would prefer it if we could have hacked them and used the robots as allies and upped the badguy numbers.......

but all that said for what it costs on CDKeys... it really is a no brainer purchase. i paid £20ish and never regretted it, you get LOADS of content as well.
 
Actually pondering getting this as there are lots of cheap keys around but I won't really be playing MP too much and a 100+GB download off Windows Store is putting me off:/

Not worth it mate, it's awful to play on your own imo. Even the campaign gets boring on your own. Horde is impossible on your own.
 
It depends - did you like the campaign from the other Gears games? Then you'll feel right at home within minutes. But the massive download is a real pain in the arse. They'd have been better splitting it into two like Crackdown.
